How I approach training
Training is a strategic investment. It needs to be targeted at real business needs, and designed as a mini change programme, not a one-off event that may or may not bring benefits. So I’ll engage with you on how the need for change will be communicated, and how the new way of working will be reinforced day to day.
My training is designed to be practical, experiential and directly applicable – no “death by PowerPoint”. And my delivery style is energetic and engaging.
I work pragmatically to fit your systems, resources and culture – for example, training small in-person groups; or online modules for a wider population; or slotting training into existing events such as internal conferences.

My experience
I built my expertise in designing and delivering training at McKinsey. There I created the firm’s communication skills training curriculum for all consultants up to partner level. This blended around a dozen in-person and online modules graduated by cohort, with train-the-trainer workshops to scale delivery, aligned performance appraisal criteria, and an online toolkit attracting ~2,000 downloads a month.
I also designed and delivered leadership development workshops for McKinsey clients. For example, a 2-day workshop for a global healthcare company equipped its country top teams to lead the roll out of a new strategy, and was so successful that it was taken up by other functions. And a yearlong programme of integrated workshops and fieldwork for a public sector top team helped them build personal and collective capabilities to lead their organisation in difficult circumstances.
